Pierwszego dnia miałam ochotę zacząć piszczeć z radości. Myślę, że 20 lat temu czułabym to samo bo już wtedy (a może zwłaszcza wtedy) uwielbiałam takie widoki. Zadziwiające, że rzeczy, które zachwycały małą mnie (i zachwycają dużą mnie), cieszyły też setki dzieci (i dorosłych) sto, dwieście, trzysta lat temu. Może w trochę innym wydaniu, ale jednak. Niemal za każdym razem gdy oglądam takie cuda myślę o tym, jakie były reakcje dawnych widzów, jak wielkie emocje towarzyszyły pierwszym pokazom takich animacji i optycznych iluzji. Jak mogły różnić się od tych przeżywanych dziś, a na ile były podobne. Dziś też lubimy być czarowani niezwykłymi ruchomymi obrazami - a jednak czasem brakuje nam do tych czarów szacunku. Wiele filmów czy animacji postrzegamy jako kolejną rutynową rozrywkę, zapominając o magii, jaką w sobie kryją i o tym, jakie pokłady czasu, wynalazków, pracy i wyobraźni sprawiły, że możemy je dziś oglądać.
Chodziłam z otwartą buzią (dobrze, że w galerii nie było much) i czułam się jakby wciągnęła mnie do swego świata wielka księga z barwnymi ilustracjami ożywającymi na moich oczach. I tak oto na parę godzin zamieszkałam w bajce.
"Przepraszam, ale już zamykamy" - głos miłej dziewczyny przywrócił mnie do rzeczywistego świata. Ojj, czy mogłabym przenocować w galerii przez kilka wieczorów? Tylko kilka - bo i tak już mam loty prawie jak Amélie Poulain ;)
Wystawa otwiera oczy nie tylko na to, co było, ale i na to, co jest dziś. Oglądając ją uzmysłowiłam sobie, jak wiele współczesnych "przyrządów do odprawiania wizualnej magii" - projektory, powiększalniki, pop-up booki, folia lentikularna, animacje poklatkowe, 3D i inne - miało swoje pierwowzory już setki lat temu.
Druga część wystawy kryje się w BWA Design (tylko dla dorosłych) - na pewno zajrzę tam wkrótce. Na moich zdjęciach widnieje tylko maleńka część ekspozycji. Miłośnicy animacji, fotografii, ilustracji, kinomaniacy i znudzeni życiem dorośli - przetrzyjcie oczy, zabierzcie dzieci, cofnijcie się w czasie i idźcie na wystawę! ;)

Yesterday and today I was visiting an exhibition "Rub your eyes" (from Werner Nekes collection) in BWA Avant-garde Wroclaw wchich inspired me so much that I must, I just must describe it here! :D
First day I felt like I'm gonna squeak out of joy. I think that 20 years ago I would feel the same because then I already (or - especially then) adored such views. Astounding, that things which were enrapturing small me (and which are enrapturing big me), pleased also children (and adults) one, two, three hundred years ago. Well, maybe sometimes in a bit different form - but always. Almost each time when I am watching such miracles I am thinking, what reactions of old spectators were, how great emotions accompanied the first displays of such animated films and optical illusions. How they could differ from of the ones experienced today - or how similar they were. Today we also like to be charmed with unusual motion pictures - however sometimes we are lacking the respect to these charms. We perceive a lot of films or animations as next routine entertainment, forgetting about the magic which they are hiding which and about it, what amount of the time, inventions, work and imagination caused that today we can watch them.
I walked with the opened face (good that there were no flies in the gallery) and I felt like dragged into a large book with colorful illustrations coming alive before my very eyes. That's how I settled in the fairy tale for few hours.
"I'm sorry, but we are already closing" - the voice of a nice girl brought me back to the real world. Ohh, could I stay in the gallery for a few nights? Only a few - because I already have trips almost as Amélie Poulain;)
The exhibition is opening eyes of viewers not only for "what was", but also for "what is today". When I was watching her I realised, how many contemporary "visual magic tools" - projectors, enlargers, pop-up books, lenticular foil, animations - stop motion, 3D and other - have their prototypes from hudred years before.
Second part of this exhibition is hiding in BWA Design (only for adults) - i'll check it soon for sure. On my photos you can see only tiny part of the exhibition. Enthusiasts of animation, photography, illustration, cinemaniacs and adults bored with life - rub your eyes, take children, move back in time and go to the exhibition!;)
